Greetings everyone! I'm Melanie B, and welcome to Maryland Medicinal Yoga, a safe space where we elevate and heal the mind & body through the combination of yoga & cannabis.
I believe yoga is for anyone and everyone. It's not just for those who want to sweat & chant, or for those who can touch their toes or stand on their heads. At Maryland Medicinal Yoga we focus on real world yoga, and that is for anyone seeking to relieve stress, gain flexibility, strengthen the body, quiet the mind, connect with self, or simply have a good time.
So, a little about me. I'm a 200 HR Yoga Certified Instructor (RYS) and have educated myself on the benefits of yoga & cannabis for over two decades.
My yoga path began while I was a single mom to a toddler, taking 18 credit semesters at Parsons School of Design, where I earned my BA in Design Management. It was a stressful time to say the least. A good friend of mine noticed how burned out I was and asked me if I'd ever tried yoga. Once I told her I'd tried a few classes in the past and enjoyed it but never found the time to actually stick to it she insisted I attend a class at Jivamukti Yoga Center in Union Square. So I did, and I did again 3 days later, then again two days later, and and that was it. I was 1000% hooked!. I discovered these small pockets of time dedicated to protecting my general peace. It relieved my stress, soothed my aches, gaged my emotions, and began to transform my body.
My favorite style of yoga is Elevated Hot Vinyasa. The combination of cannabis & heat allows practitioners to quickly quite the mind, release tension from the body to, flow at your natural rhythm, and go deeper into poses.
I truly look forward to practicing with you and welcome any questions you may have.
